India’s role in the 2nd WHO Global Summit highlighted at Curtain Raiser

The Ministry of Ayush held a Curtain Raiser on 8 December 2025, chaired by Union Minister Shri Prataprao Jadhav. He emphasised India’s growing leadership in traditional medicine and the importance of national research institutions in building scientific credibility and strengthening international cooperation.

In the national capital region, the Central Ayurveda Research Institute (CARI), Delhi, continues to support Ayurvedic research. According to Dr. Hemanta Panigrahi, the institute’s integrated clinical, fundamental and policy research enhances its ability to address major lifestyle and non-communicable diseases. He noted that CARI’s specialty clinics, research studies and professional training programmes align with national priorities for evidence-driven traditional healthcare.

The upcoming Summit will include ministerial sessions, scientific panels, exhibitions and global knowledge-sharing events aimed at improving integration of traditional medicine within public health systems.
