Hyderabad: AIMIM chief and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi urged voters to follow the Telangana SIR process and protect their voting rights. He made the appeal during a visit to SIR hearing centres in the Yakutpura Assembly constituency on Wednesday.
Owaisi inspected arrangements at the hearing centres and spoke with officials managing the process. He also met representatives of AIMIM help desks operating at the centres.
Meanwhile, election authorities had released the draft voter list. Voters can submit objections or request corrections in the draft list until October 17.
Owaisi urged voters who received notices from election officials to attend their designated hearing centres without fail. He said voters should respond to the notices within the prescribed period.
He also asked eligible voters to carry Aadhaar cards and other required identity documents to the hearing centres. These documents should be submitted to the concerned officials during the hearing.
Telangana SIR process requires timely voter action
According to Owaisi, eligible voters would enter the final voter list only after completing the required process and providing the necessary details. Therefore, he appealed to voters not to ignore official notices or delay their response.
Owaisi said eligible voters should use the opportunity to protect their right to vote. He also urged them to ensure that their names appeared in the final voter list.
The draft voter list remained open for objections and corrections until October 17. Voters who received notices were asked to attend the relevant hearing centres and complete the required formalities.
The AIMIM leader’s visit focused on arrangements at the hearing centres and the need for voters to respond to election notices. He also interacted with officials and members of the AIMIM help desks during the visit.
