TCIL pays Rs 43.86 crore dividend to Centre for 2025-26

New Delhi: Telecommunications Consultants India Ltd (TCIL) paid a dividend of Rs 43.86 crore to the Government of India for 2025-26 on Thursday. Chairman and Managing Director Syed Tausif Abbas presented the dividend cheque to Union Minister for Communications and DoNER Jyotiraditya M. Scindia.

Department of Telecommunications Secretary Amit Agrawal was also present during the presentation. The payment reflects TCIL’s contribution to the government as its sole shareholder.

The Government of India owns 100% equity in TCIL. The company was established in August 1978 and operates under the administrative control of the Department of Telecommunications.

During 2025-26, TCIL recorded operating revenue of Rs 3,335 crore. The company also reported a profit after tax of Rs 146 crore.

TCIL revenue rises as project portfolio expands

TCIL’s revenue has grown by 115% over the past five years. Revenue increased from Rs 1,596 crore in 2021-22 to Rs 3,442 crore in 2025-26, according to the company’s figures.

TCIL is a profit-making Miniratna public sector undertaking. Over the years, it has paid cumulative dividends of Rs 4,146 crore to the Government of India.

The cumulative amount includes a special dividend of Rs 3,728 crore paid in 2024-25. The latest TCIL dividend adds another Rs 43.86 crore to the company’s payments to the government.

TCIL operates as a diversified Central Public Sector Enterprise in telecommunications and information technology. It executes projects in India as well as international markets.

The company has completed projects across more than 70 countries. Its current overseas operations cover Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Oman, Mauritius, Bhutan and Nepal.

In addition, TCIL is involved in the Pan Africa e-Vidya Bharti and Arogya Bharti Network project. The network currently operates across more than 15 African countries.

TCIL dividend comes amid major government projects

In India, TCIL is executing several major government projects. These include the Defence NFS project and Navy OFC projects.

The company is also working on USOF-funded APSFL and Telangana Fiber projects. Furthermore, its portfolio includes the BBNL VSAT project and BharatNet Phase III work in the North East.

Other ongoing assignments include the BSNL Super Edge Router Project. TCIL is also executing the State Wide Area Network project in Bihar.

The company is undertaking data centre projects for the Indian Coast Guard and in Chhattisgarh. These assignments add to its telecommunications and information technology project portfolio.

Rs 43.86 crore TCIL dividend for 2025-26 was presented to the Union Communications Minister in New Delhi. The payment follows the company’s reported profit and continued execution of domestic and international projects.
