Shivraj Singh Chouhan to visit Maharashtra for farmer, rural development programmes
New Delhi: Union Minister for Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare and Rural Development, Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan, will undertake a three-day visit to Maharashtra from December 31, 2025, to January 2, 2026. The visit will cover Ahilya Nagar and Nashik districts and focus on farmers, rural development, women empowerment, and youth opportunities.
During the visit, Shivraj Singh Chouhan Maharashtra visit programmes aim to highlight the Union government’s farmer-friendly and rural-centric initiatives. Through direct interactions, the Minister will share details of policies designed to promote inclusive and sustainable rural growth.
On December 31, Shri Chouhan will participate in programmes at Ahilya Nagar. He will visit the Krishi Vigyan Kendra at Babhaleshwar and interact with farmer groups. During these meetings, he will discuss crop cultivation, irrigation, water conservation, and market access.
In addition, the Union Minister will deliberate on crop insurance, technology adoption, and diversification. He will also outline strategies to boost farm incomes through natural farming, value addition, and Farmer Producer Organisations.
On January 1, the Minister will begin the New Year with a plantation drive. Subsequently, he will virtually address officers of the Agriculture and Rural Development Ministries. During the interaction, he will administer a pledge to strengthen commitment towards national goals.
Later in the day, Shivraj Singh Chouhan will attend a Gram Sabha at Loni Budruk near Shirdi. He will interact with villagers, workers, and labourers. The interaction will focus on rural welfare schemes and future development plans.
On January 2, the Shivraj Singh Chouhan Maharashtra visit will conclude in Nashik. The Minister will attend a programme at the Krishi Vigyan Kendra of Yashwantrao Chavan Maharashtra Open University. He will deliver the keynote address on agricultural transformation, innovation, and youth empowerment.
The event will also include an interactive session with students and researchers. Overall, the visit aims to strengthen grassroots engagement and promote a self-reliant, technology-driven rural India.
