Air Chief Marshal AP Singh addresses Subroto Mukerjee seminar

New Delhi: Air Chief Marshal AP Singh, Chief of the Air Staff, delivered the inaugural address at the 22nd Subroto Mukerjee International Seminar on January 21, focusing on evolving national security imperatives in a rapidly changing global environment.

The seminar was organised by the Centre for Aerospace Power and Strategic Studies and is held annually in memory of Air Marshal Subroto Mukerjee, the first Chief of the Air Staff and a founding visionary of the Indian Air Force.

Addressing the gathering, the Air Chief said the theme “National Security Imperatives” reflected the need for sustained dialogue on emerging global and regional security challenges. He underlined the importance of adapting national security strategies to account for rapid technological transformation and changing geopolitical alignments.

The event brought together policymakers, scholars, practitioners and government representatives to deliberate on the determinants shaping India’s security landscape.

Subroto Mukerjee seminar focuses on multi-domain security challenges

Discussions during the seminar centred on subjects such as national security imperatives in multi-domain operations and reimagining security strategies in an increasingly multi-polar world. Speakers examined how technological advancements and shifting power structures were redefining defence planning and strategic decision-making.

Participants said the seminar provided a platform for intellectual engagement on security threats and opportunities confronting India, while also highlighting the need for integrated approaches across military, technological and policy domains.
