Hyderabad: Deputy Mayor Mothe Srilatha Shobhan Reddy conducted an OU police station inspection on Saturday and directed civic officials to resolve pending sanitation, road and streetlight problems affecting the public.
During the OU police station inspection, police officials flagged multiple civic lapses within the station limits. They pointed to poor sanitation, damaged internal roads and non-functional streetlights. As a result, visitors faced inconvenience and safety risks, especially after dark.
Osmania University Division Assistant Commissioner of Police Jagan and OU Police Station Circle Inspector Appalanaidu briefed the Deputy Mayor. They said the lack of basic infrastructure had remained unresolved for months. Therefore, they sought immediate intervention from the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation.
TTUC State President Mothe Shobhan Reddy accompanied the Deputy Mayor during the visit. The team walked through the affected stretches and reviewed the condition of civic amenities around the police station.
GHMC reviews works after OU police station inspection
Following the OU police station inspection, the Deputy Mayor held discussions with GHMC engineers and Osmania University representatives. She reviewed proposals related to sanitation drives, streetlight repairs and road restoration in the area.
The Deputy Mayor assured officials that GHMC would take up the required works on priority. She added that permanent solutions would improve safety and ease access for people visiting the police station.
