Hyderabad: Telangana BJP president N. Ramchander Rao urged citizens to follow the Shivaji Maharaj path at Shivaji Jayanti celebrations held at the party’s State office on Thursday.
Addressing party leaders and workers, Rao described Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj as a symbol of patriotism, courage and righteous governance. He said the Maratha ruler defended the nation’s honour during a turbulent period in history. Moreover, he noted that Shivaji resisted Mughal expansion and stood firm against rulers such as Aurangzeb.
Rao said the ideals associated with Shivaji Maharaj remain relevant in contemporary governance. According to him, the Shivaji Maharaj path represents administrative discipline, accountability and welfare-driven leadership. He added that these values should guide public representatives and citizens alike.
He stressed that Shivaji Maharaj’s legacy transcended caste and religion. Therefore, he said people from all communities could draw inspiration from his leadership model. Rao also highlighted Shivaji’s emphasis on efficient administration, protection of people’s rights and promotion of public welfare.
BJP leaders recall governance ideals at Jayanti event
Reiterating his message, Rao called on citizens to reflect on Shivaji’s vision of justice and inclusive governance. He said leaders must focus on service, integrity and national interest. Furthermore, he urged party workers to take the message of responsible governance to the grassroots level.
Nizamabad MP Dharmapuri Arvind attended the programme along with senior BJP leaders and local party functionaries. Several speakers at the event paid floral tributes and recalled the contributions of Shivaji Maharaj to Indian history.
The programme marked the birth anniversary of Shivaji Maharaj and drew participation from BJP cadres across the city. Party leaders said such events aim to reinforce historical awareness and inspire youth to adopt values of courage, discipline and public service in daily life.
