Prime Minister of Canada to visit India from Feb 27

New Delhi: The Prime Minister of Canada visit to India will take place from February 27 to March 2 at the invitation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Mark Carney will undertake his first official visit to India during this period. On February 27, he will arrive in Mumbai and attend business engagements over the next two days. He will interact with Indian and Canadian CEOs, industry leaders, financial experts, innovators, educators and representatives of Canadian Pension Funds operating in India.

He will arrive in New Delhi on March 1. On March 2, Prime Minister Modi and Prime Minister Carney will hold delegation-level talks at Hyderabad House.

Prime Minister of Canada visit to review strategic partnership

The two leaders will review progress under the India–Canada Strategic Partnership. They will build on earlier meetings held in Kananaskis in June 2025 and Johannesburg in November 2025.

During the talks, they will assess cooperation in trade and investment, energy, critical minerals, agriculture, education, research and innovation. In addition, they will discuss people-to-people ties and exchange views on regional and global developments.

Later in the day, both leaders will attend the India–Canada CEOs Forum.

The visit comes at an important stage in the normalization of bilateral relations. Earlier, both Prime Ministers agreed to pursue a constructive and balanced partnership grounded in mutual respect and shared economic interests.

Officials said the forthcoming meeting will provide an opportunity to reaffirm positive momentum and advance a forward-looking partnership between India and Canada.
