Vivek Venkatswamy calls employees brand ambassadors at HR Summit

Hyderabad: Labour, Employment, Mines and Geology Minister Dr. G. Vivek Venkatswamy said employees serve as the true brand ambassadors of every organisation while addressing the 3rd HR Summit organised by ASSOCHAM at HICC Novotel on Thursday.

Speaking at the HR Summit, the Minister stated that employee satisfaction directly improves productivity and strengthens institutional credibility. Therefore, he emphasised that Human Resources departments must lead progressive reforms within companies. He added that effective HR leadership shapes workplace culture and drives long-term growth.

HR Summit highlights evolving HR practices

Recalling his earlier engagement with industry bodies, Dr. Vivek said attending the event felt like reconnecting with corporate leaders. He referred to his tenure as President of CII and also mentioned that his father, Kaka Venkatswamy, had served as Labour Minister in united Andhra Pradesh and later in the Union Government.

According to him, organisations earlier struggled with wage disputes and labour-related challenges. However, the sector has transformed significantly over the years. HR departments, which were once viewed as administrative units, have now become strategic pillars of management. Moreover, retaining skilled talent and ensuring higher productivity remain key concerns for HR professionals.

Dr. Vivek expressed confidence that the HR Summit would generate actionable ideas to further strengthen HR systems across industries. In addition, he underlined the importance of adapting policies to meet emerging workforce trends.

Highlighting State initiatives, he said Telangana is prioritising skill development for the future. The government is upgrading old ITIs into Advanced Training Centres with CSR support from Tata. Several centres are coming up in rural areas and are expected to become operational within a year.

He invited HR leaders to recruit trained youth from these institutions. Furthermore, he urged industry representatives to suggest new courses aligned with evolving market needs. Departmental officials, he added, have been instructed to coordinate closely with industries to ensure synchronised employment generation.

Senior industry representatives and government officials also attended the HR Summit.
