Hyderabad: In a major political development, the Kavitha Interview following her clean chit in the Delhi liquor case has sparked fresh debate in Telangana politics. Telangana Jagruti president K. Kavitha announced that she will launch a new regional party within the next two months.
A special court recently cleared her of charges in the Delhi liquor case. The court reportedly observed lack of substantial evidence. Former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and former Minister Manish Sisodia were also acquitted in the same case.
Delhi Liquor Case and Political Allegations | Kavitha Interview
Speaking during the Kavitha Interview, she alleged that the case was politically motivated. According to her, the BJP-led Union Government is attempting to weaken regional parties across India.
She claimed that leaders who challenge national narratives or speak about regional identity are deliberately targeted. Therefore, she believes the case against her was part of a larger political design.
Kavitha stated that attaching a corruption label to public figures is an easy way to damage reputations. However, she said reversing that stigma is far more difficult. She added that the court’s verdict proved her innocence and validated her long-standing claims.
Jail Experience and Reflections
During the Kavitha Interview, she also spoke about her jail experience. She said she was first kept in ED custody for five days and later shifted to Tihar Jail.
She described the jail environment as emotionally intense. Many inmates, she said, were undertrial prisoners unable to secure bail due to financial constraints. Some faced serious charges and long legal battles.
Kavitha said she spent most of her time reading and practicing meditation. Additionally, she tried to assist fellow inmates with legal guidance wherever possible.
She recalled one incident involving young software professionals who were jailed in connection with an international fraud case. According to her, many of them appeared unaware of the larger allegations surrounding their employer.
Another incident involved a violent altercation between inmates. She described the prison atmosphere as stressful and emotionally draining.
Break with BRS and Major Political Announcement | Kavitha Interview
In a significant revelation, Kavitha said she no longer has any association with the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS).
She stated that during her most difficult period, the party did not stand by her. As a result, she decided to move forward independently.
Importantly, she announced that she will launch a new regional party in Telangana within the next two months. She argued that Telangana needs a strong regional force focused solely on state issues rather than national politics.
She further said that receiving the clean chit before launching her party felt like a blessing and strengthened her resolve.
Family Support and Future Vision
Kavitha credited her husband, Anil Kumar, as her strongest pillar of support. She said he remained in Delhi coordinating with lawyers throughout the legal battle.
She acknowledged the emotional strain faced by her children and family. However, she added that public support and faith helped her endure the challenging period.
Concluding the Kavitha Interview, she said that truth ultimately prevails. She affirmed that her upcoming party would focus on transparent governance and grassroots-level politics in Telangana.
