SCs must remain united for justice, says Minister Vivek Venkatswamy

Hyderabad: Telangana Labour, Employment and Mines Minister G. Vivek Venkatswamy called on Scheduled Castes to remain united and continue their struggle for justice in all spheres of life.

He made the remarks after attending the swearing-in ceremony of Kavvampally Satyanarayana, who assumed charge as TPCC SC Cell Chairperson at Gandhi Bhavan on Thursday.

The minister said the responsibility entrusted to Satyanarayana is significant. He expressed confidence that the position would help advance the development of SC communities in the state.

Minister calls for greater opportunities for SC communities

Vivek Venkatswamy said Scheduled Castes must receive opportunities in business, contracts and other sectors in proportion to their population.

He stressed that discrimination against Dalits can end only when equal opportunities and financial empowerment become a reality.

The minister also said he recently urged Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Bhatti Vikramarka to allocate a proportionate budget for SC communities in the state budget.

According to him, such measures will help improve economic and social conditions for marginalised groups.

Vivek Venkatswamy also reaffirmed the commitment of the Indian National Congress to ensure justice for Dalits.

He called on SC leaders to work in unity and strive for greater representation in corporations and public institutions across the state.
