NXT Conclave 2026 highlighted as platform for global policy dialogue

New Delhi: Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla said NXT Conclave 2026 was emerging as an important global platform for policy discussions, innovation and international cooperation.

Birla made the remarks when parliamentarians and delegates from more than 30 countries attending the conclave called on him at Parliament House in New Delhi.

He welcomed the visiting public representatives, industry leaders and thought leaders from various democracies. He said such interactions strengthened global parliamentary dialogue and cooperation.

Birla also commended Rajya Sabha MP Kartikeya Sharma for spearheading the initiative. According to him, NXT Conclave 2026 brought together parliamentarians, policymakers and experts to discuss global challenges and opportunities.

Highlighting India’s democratic tradition, Birla said the country was widely regarded as the “Mother of Democracy”. He noted that India had a long history of dialogue, consensus and participatory decision-making.

He said the Parliament of India represented the aspirations and diversity of 1.4 billion citizens. Policies, he added, were shaped through debate and dialogue among varied perspectives.

Birla also underlined India’s progress in inclusive development, digital innovation and governance reforms. He said technology-driven governance had improved transparency and accountability in public administration.

According to him, initiatives such as Direct Benefit Transfer systems and digital platforms strengthened efficient service delivery.

The Speaker also highlighted the role of emerging technologies in parliamentary functioning. He said initiatives such as Digital Sansad and improved research systems enhanced transparency and efficiency in legislative work.

Birla emphasised the importance of parliamentary diplomacy in strengthening international cooperation. He noted that the Indian Parliament had formed more than 60 Parliamentary Friendship Groups to deepen engagement with legislatures worldwide.

He encouraged greater exchange of ideas and experiences among parliamentarians to strengthen democratic institutions.

Birla also expressed confidence that discussions at NXT Conclave 2026 would strengthen cooperation and mutual understanding among nations.

The conclave in New Delhi has brought together parliamentarians, policymakers, industry leaders and global experts to deliberate on governance, technology and international collaboration.
