Hyderabad: Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka urged elected representatives to support the Model Solar Village initiative, describing it as crucial for building a green and energy-efficient Telangana.
He distributed letters to Ministers, MLAs, and MLCs at the Assembly Hall on Sunday, inviting them to take part in the programme. The initiative focuses on promoting solar energy adoption at the household level.
Moreover, he advised public representatives to install 2KW grid-connected solar rooftop systems at their residences. According to him, leaders must lead by example to encourage wider adoption of renewable energy.
He added that such installations could turn residential areas into small power generation centres. As a result, households may also benefit from reduced electricity costs.
Push for renewable energy adoption across Telangana
The Deputy Chief Minister said the programme would strengthen the state’s green energy network and support long-term sustainability goals.
He asked interested representatives to submit their residential details and electricity bills to the TGREDCO office in Khairatabad. Subsequently, technical teams will conduct site inspections and install solar systems.
Bhatti Vikramarka noted that the effort marks an important step toward achieving carbon neutrality. He also emphasised that it would enhance energy security while promoting environmentally responsible practices.
The government expects the initiative to raise awareness and accelerate the transition to renewable energy. Overall, the Model Solar Village initiative is seen as a key driver of Telangana’s clean energy push.
