SCR introduces summer special trains to ease rush

Hyderabad: The South Central Railway (SCR) on Tuesday announced summer special trains to handle the surge in passenger traffic during the peak travel season.

The railway zone said these services will connect major destinations such as Tirupati, Raxaul, Patna and Charlapalli. As a result, officials aim to ease congestion and offer more travel options to passengers.

According to SCR, Tirupati–Raxaul trains, numbered 07051 and 07052, will run from April 13 to May 28. These services will stop at key stations including Secunderabad, Kazipet, Nagpur and Ranchi. Therefore, passengers travelling long distances will get better connectivity.

In addition, Patna–Charlapalli services with numbers 03253, 03254 and 03255 will operate on multiple days each week until the end of May. These trains will pass through major stations across Telangana, Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh and Bihar. Thus, they will improve regional connectivity.

Officials stated that the special services were introduced to meet rising demand during the holiday period. Moreover, they are expected to reduce pressure on regular trains running on these routes.

All trains will include 2AC, 3AC, Sleeper and general coaches. This mix will cater to passengers from different travel segments and fare categories.

The SCR added that it will continue to monitor passenger demand. If required, it will introduce further measures. The railway zone said these services are part of its seasonal planning to ensure smoother travel.
