Hyderabad: Labour and Mines Minister Dr. G. Vivek Venkatswamy said Ambedkar ideals continue to guide social upliftment and women empowerment across the country. He stated that Dr. B.R. Ambedkar framed the Constitution with the welfare of all sections in mind and created opportunities for women through progressive reforms.
The minister attended the 135th birth anniversary celebrations of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar at the Geological Survey of India office in Nagole Bandlaguda on Thursday. He paid floral tributes to Ambedkar’s statue during the programme.
Dr. Vivek Venkatswamy recalled supporting the Women’s Reservation Bill during his tenure as a Member of Parliament. He said his wife has also been conducting awareness and empowerment programmes for women. Moreover, he urged women to participate actively in education and social activities.
He said institutions named after Ambedkar were providing quality education to poor children. In addition, he stressed that continuous struggles were necessary for social progress and development.

Ambedkar ideals inspire women empowerment efforts
The minister remembered the contributions of former Union Minister Gaddam Venkataswamy and said he dedicated his life to public welfare. He added that he learned the values of social responsibility and public service from his father.
Dr. Vivek Venkatswamy also said the Geological Survey of India was carrying out effective services in Telangana. Furthermore, he urged officials to strengthen measures against the sand mafia through detailed studies and monitoring.
He said the government was allocating more than ₹1,000 crore every year for the restoration and development of GSI services. He added that the government was creating employment opportunities while supporting the growth of small businesses into larger enterprises.
GSI Southern Region DDG B. Ajay Kumar said the organisation had been serving the nation for 175 years. Meanwhile, GSI Southern Region ADG and HOD Vijay Vishnupant Mugal said Ambedkar framed the Constitution for the upliftment of all sections of society.
DICCI Women’s Wing National President Aruna Dasari praised Ambedkar’s contribution to the Constitution and social justice. She also appreciated Dr. Vivek Venkatswamy for promoting Ambedkar ideals through public service.
