Telangana CEO reviews Special Intensive Revision programme in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Electoral Officer C. Sudharsan Reddy reviewed the Special Intensive Revision programme in Hyderabad on Tuesday and directed officials to ensure transparent and accurate voter verification across the city.

Additional Chief Electoral Officer Dr Vasam Venkateswar Reddy and Deputy CEO (FAC) G.S. Chary attended the meeting at the BRKR Building. GHMC Commissioner and Hyderabad District Election Officer R.V. Karnan, Medchal-Malkajgiri Collector M. Manu Choudary and Electoral Registration Officers also participated.

Sudharsan Reddy instructed officials to include every eligible voter in the electoral rolls. He also directed them to remove ineligible names from the voter list.

The CEO stressed that the Special Intensive Revision process must remain transparent and error-free. He asked Electoral Registration Officers to train Booth Level Officers properly for voter verification duties.

According to officials, BLOs would play a key role in field-level verification and data collection. Therefore, the CEO asked EROs to monitor their work regularly and provide support wherever required.

Special Intensive Revision focuses on urban voter mapping

Sudharsan Reddy directed officials to focus on high-rise apartments and gated communities during the verification process. He also asked authorities to conduct awareness programmes in slum areas and urban localities.

Officials said enumeration forms would be available in both English and Telugu to help voters complete the process easily.

The CEO also instructed officials to ensure proper mapping of VIP and VVIP voters. In addition, he announced a “Best BLO Award” to encourage top-performing Booth Level Officers.

Officials said the review meeting focused on improving voter verification standards and strengthening electoral roll accuracy ahead of the revision exercise.
