Hyderabad: Former minister and senior BRS leader T. Harish Rao accused the Congress government of failing to fulfil several employee promises made to government staff, RTC workers, ASHA workers and Anganwadi employees before the elections.
Speaking at a meeting of the Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board on Thursday, Harish Rao questioned the delay in implementing the Pay Revision Commission (PRC). He also sought clarity on pending Dearness Allowances (DAs). He alleged that the government had not honoured key commitments made during the election campaign.
According to Harish Rao, employees expected major announcements on Telangana State Formation Day. He said many hoped the government would announce the PRC and address pending financial benefits on June 2. However, he claimed the administration failed to meet those expectations.
Employee promises remain pending
Harish Rao said rising living costs had increased pressure on employees and their families. Therefore, he urged the government to take immediate decisions on salary revisions and other pending benefits. He maintained that government employees, RTC staff and welfare workers deserved timely action on their concerns.
Moreover, he alleged that the Congress government had disappointed employees by delaying important decisions. He claimed the administration had not delivered on assurances given before the elections. He urged the government to implement pending benefits without further delay.
The remarks added to the continuing political exchanges between the BRS and Congress over governance and welfare issues in Telangana. Meanwhile, the Congress government has maintained that it is addressing commitments in a phased manner.
