Abdullah Sohail tells voters to choose integrity over cash

Hyderabad: BRS senior leader Abdullah Sohail has appealed to voters in Jubilee Hills to reject monetary inducements and vote for long-term justice. Addressing the public on Sunday, the last day of the by-election campaign, he said voters should act with integrity and civic awareness.

Sohail stresses integrity, warns against short-term lures

Abdullah Sohail cautioned that offers between Rs 2,500 and Rs 5,000 could not solve serious grievances or restore community dignity. He said accepting such money weakened the people’s moral authority and damaged the foundations of democracy.

He cited alleged incidents of mob violence, demolitions under the “HYDRAA” scheme, and restrictions on religious activities as examples of injustice that small payments could not offset. “Is our honour worth only Rs 2,500?” he asked, urging voters to think before compromising their dignity.

Sohail described the by-election as a contest between governance that respects traditions and one that could lead to autocracy. He praised former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao for safeguarding Telangana’s ethos and urged citizens to remember their responsibility to future generations.

He concluded by calling the November 11 bypoll a moment for “moral correction,” asking voters to protect the democratic spirit through responsible participation.
