BJP forms committee for Jubilee Hills by-election strategy

Hyderabad: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has formed a special committee to prepare its strategy for the upcoming by-election in Jubilee Hills constituency. The move signals the party’s intent to strengthen its presence in Hyderabad’s political landscape and expand its support base among minority voters.

State BJP leaders said the committee will handle campaign planning, candidate selection, and voter outreach. They added that the party plans to highlight national welfare schemes and its governance model, while targeting the Congress government over unfulfilled promises.

Minority outreach and booth-level mobilisation key focus

Sources said the committee will prioritise minority outreach in Jubilee Hills, which has a sizeable Muslim electorate. Booth-level teams are being activated to mobilise voters and counter Congress and AIMIM campaigns. Leaders believe the by-election gives the BJP a chance to make inroads in an urban seat traditionally dominated by other parties.

The state leadership also intends to bring senior national leaders to Hyderabad for campaigning and visibility. Party insiders said feedback from ground-level surveys will guide the candidate selection process.

The by-election in Jubilee Hills follows the resignation of the sitting MLA. With Congress and AIMIM preparing their strategies, the BJP wants to position itself as the main alternative by leveraging national issues and strong central leadership.
