Hyderabad: BRS appoints municipal coordinators across Telangana as working president K. Taraka Rama Rao named senior party leaders as election in-charges ahead of the upcoming local body polls.

The decision marked a key organisational step as the party began groundwork for the municipal elections. Senior leaders received responsibility for each municipality and municipal corporation to ensure focused supervision at the local level. Party sources said the move aimed to strengthen coordination between grassroots workers and the central leadership.

With this decision, the party entrusted the coordinators with mobilising cadres and shaping area-specific campaign strategies. They will supervise booth-level agents and coordinate ward-level activities to improve voter outreach. In addition, the leadership directed them to remain stationed in their assigned municipalities throughout the election period to ensure constant engagement.

The coordinators will identify strong candidates in consultation with local leaders and senior functionaries. They must also assess public sentiment, monitor local issues and flag potential challenges early. Regular reports will be sent to the party headquarters at Telangana Bhavan and directly to the working president to enable swift decision-making.

Coordinators to oversee poll strategy and reporting

As part of this exercise, BRS appoints municipal coordinators under a structured monitoring system designed for real-time assessment of election trends. The mechanism will allow the party leadership to track campaign progress, cadre activity and voter response across urban local bodies.

According to party leaders, the appointments reflected an effort to decentralise responsibilities while maintaining tight organisational control. The coordinators will also work to resolve internal differences at the local level and ensure discipline among party workers during the campaign.

KTR released the full list of appointed coordinators and asked them to strengthen their presence among the public. He urged them to work closely with residents, highlight past development initiatives and counter the opposition’s narrative. He also appealed to party cadres to remain united and proactive to secure victory in the forthcoming municipal elections.
