BRS MLC Sravan Dasoju condemns Revanth Reddy language and conduct

Hyderabad: Bharat Rashtra Samithi MLC Dr. Sravan Dasoju strongly condemned Revanth Reddy language and governance style, calling it abusive and unbecoming of a Chief Minister.

In a statement, Dr. Dasoju expressed anguish over remarks made by the Chief Minister at a meeting with newly elected Sarpanches and Ward Members in Kodangal. According to him, such language would remain a dark chapter in Telangana’s democratic history.

As a Chief Minister entrusted with strengthening Panchayati Raj, Revanth Reddy should have set an example, Dr. Dasoju said. Instead, he alleged that threats and intimidation marked the address. Such conduct, he added, showed a serious decline in governance standards.

He questioned whether this approach reflected the ideals of Gram Swaraj. At the same time, he asked if elected village representatives were being guided or coerced.

Revanth Reddy language criticised as unconstitutional

Referring to the 73rd Constitutional Amendment, Dr. Dasoju said the Chief Minister should have explained the 29 constitutional powers of Panchayats. However, he alleged that abusive and violent expressions were used instead.

The BRS leader said such language was wholly unbecoming of a constitutional authority. Moreover, he warned that it weakened grassroots democracy and public trust.

Turning to another issue, Dr. Dasoju criticised remarks against BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao. He said mocking overseas professional work insulted the dignity of labour.

On moral authority, he raised concerns over land acquisition from tribal farmers in Lagacharla. He alleged that the land benefited pharma companies linked to the Chief Minister’s family.

Separately, he questioned the use of Singareni workers’ funds for foreign trips meant for personal entertainment. Such actions, he said, reflected misplaced priorities.

The MLC also condemned remarks made against BRS president K. Chandrashekar Rao at a public event. He said comments made in the presence of school children showed political decay.

Describing the last 24 months, Dr. Dasoju said governance had caused economic damage. He cited RR Tax, liquor licence irregularities, the Musi project, HCU land disputes, and misuse of public funds.

In contrast, he said Telangana saw strong growth under KCR. He cited rises in per capita income, GSDP, and agricultural output.

According to Dr. Dasoju, KCR governed as a builder focused on welfare and infrastructure. By comparison, he accused Revanth Reddy of acting as a broker.

Warning against ignoring public anger, he said unfulfilled guarantees would shape the electoral verdict. He added that unpaid Rythu Bandhu dues and missing loan waivers had intensified resentment.
