CDM marks 56th Raising Day with renewed commitment

Hyderabad: The College of Defence Management (CDM) marked its 56th Raising Day on Monday, with a set of events in Secunderabad, Telangana. The programme brought together officers, staff and families, and it highlighted the institute’s continuing focus on defence management education.

Celebratory events and training activities

At the start of the observance, CDM worked with the Purple Pacers and Purple Pedallers clubs to conduct a Raising Day Run and a Cycling Event. The schedule also included the valedictory ceremony of the Developing Responsible Citizens by Investing in Women Empowerment (DRIWE) course. The programme, held with Osmania University, aims to build leadership, entrepreneurship, social awareness and empowerment among spouses of Higher Defence Management Course officer trainees.

Cultural and academic contributions

In addition, the Indian Navy’s Band ‘Symphony’ performed during the event, adding a ceremonial note. CDM, established in 1970, provides tri-service higher defence management education through its flagship Higher Defence Management Course. The institution applies modern management principles to defence decision-making and has trained more than 660 officers from friendly foreign countries, thus supporting professional cooperation and defence diplomacy.

Leadership message

Later, Commandant CDM, Maj. Gen. G. Srinivas, conveyed his compliments to all ranks, civilian employees and staff. He reaffirmed the institute’s commitment to its guiding motto, “Victory Through Excellence.”
