Hyderabad: Oil marketing companies announced a reduction of Rs 33.50 in the price of 19 kg commercial LPG cylinders, bringing relief to restaurants, hotels and businesses using bulk cooking gas. The new rates came into effect from Friday.
Officials said the commercial cylinder now costs Rs 1,631.50 in Delhi. However, the price of domestic 14.2 kg LPG cylinders used in households remains unchanged, leaving home users disappointed.
Domestic LPG unchanged, revised prices in Telugu states
In Hyderabad, the domestic LPG cylinder price stood at Rs 905, while Warangal recorded Rs 924. In Visakhapatnam, the rate was Rs 861, followed by Vijayawada at Rs 875 and Guntur at Rs 877.
Business owners welcomed the reduction in commercial LPG prices, noting it would slightly ease operating costs. However, consumer groups expressed concern that families continued to face high domestic LPG prices without any relief.
Officials explained that LPG price adjustments are linked to fluctuations in international crude oil prices. While commercial consumers benefit from this revision, households will have to wait longer for a possible reduction in domestic cylinder costs.
