Committee Against War announces rally against violence

Hyderabad: The Committee Against War announced an anti war rally on March 29 and condemned the escalating violence in global conflicts, urging an immediate halt and peaceful resolution.

At a meeting held at Maqdoom Bhavan on March 18, 2026, members expressed concern over the worsening international situation. The gathering included representatives from political parties, civil society groups and religious leaders.

The meeting was chaired by M. Kodandaram, Prof. Vishwanath, Narayana, former MP Aziz Pasha and others. Participants included members from CPI, CPI(ML), trade unions and several organisations.

During the discussion, the committee condemned the loss of innocent lives, including the killing of school children. It said such actions violated humanitarian principles and international law.

According to the members, war does not benefit nations or people. Instead, it leads to loss of life, economic damage, environmental harm and long-term social distress.

Anti war rally planned with outreach and awareness drive

In this context, the committee said the anti war rally on March 29 would mobilise public opinion against violence. It urged all parties involved in conflicts to pursue dialogue and peaceful solutions.

As part of its campaign, the group will conduct outreach meetings among youth, women, students and civil society organisations. In addition, trade unions and professional bodies will also be engaged to build awareness.

A seminar will be organised with intellectuals and civil society representatives to discuss the impact of war. Moreover, the committee plans to prepare and distribute pamphlets to expand its public campaign.

Further, a delegation will meet the Leader of the House and floor leaders of political parties. It will seek the introduction of a resolution against war in the Assembly.

Finally, the committee appealed to all sections of society to unite in support of peace, justice and humanity.
