Chennai: The Congress Digital Membership Drive was launched in Tamil Nadu to enable paperless and transparent enrolment of party members across the State.
The initiative was introduced under the guidance of K. C. Venugopal, General Secretary (Organisation), AICC. Party leaders said the move would digitally strengthen the grassroots structure. In addition, it aims to expand the organisational network at the booth level across Tamil Nadu.
Khalid Saifullah, National Vice Chairman, Data Analytics, explained the process during the launch. He also demonstrated how the digital system would function for new applicants.
Under the Congress Digital Membership Drive, citizens can enrol through a fully online process. Applicants must give a missed call to 9649257636. They will then receive an official membership link, incmembership.in.
After accessing the link, applicants must complete the online form. They must also pay a membership fee of Rs. 10 through digital payment modes. Once registration concludes, members receive an SMS. The message contains a link to download the Digital ID Card.
Congress Digital Membership Drive adopts booth-level digital model
Every registered member receives a unique referral link. They can use this link to invite others to join the party. As a result, the Congress Digital Membership Drive seeks to widen its base in a structured manner.
The system removes physical paperwork and manual records. Moreover, it ensures faster verification and greater transparency in enrolment. Party leaders said the digital model would modernise organisational work.
They added that it would strengthen booth-level units and improve coordination across Tamil Nadu. Furthermore, the party expects the initiative to expand its network efficiently. It also aims to equip workers with digital tools to manage membership data in a streamlined way.
