Congress seeks votes on development in Kamareddy municipal polls

Hyderabad: Congress senior leader and Telangana Government adviser Mohammed Shabbir Ali said the party sought votes in the Kamareddy municipal polls based on visible development already carried out in the town.

He made the statement while campaigning across Wards 3, 4, 5, 8, 26, 29, 30 and 31 on Thursday. Residents welcomed him with garlands during the door-to-door outreach. Shabbir Ali said several leaders were making fresh promises, but the Congress was presenting completed works to voters.

He urged people to question leaders who, according to him, disappeared for two-and-a-half years after winning elections and returned only during polls. He alleged that some leaders were trying to provoke communities and create divisions along caste and religious lines to gain votes. Therefore, he cautioned voters against such tactics and stressed unity.

Kamareddy municipal polls manifesto and development roadmap

Shabbir Ali said the Congress had prepared a special manifesto exclusively for the Kamareddy municipal polls. He said the document outlined ward-wise plans and served as a practical roadmap, not mere promises. The proposals included drainage works, streetlighting and essential civic infrastructure.

He said every Congress candidate would remain accountable for implementing the plans. Moreover, Shabbir Ali declared that he would personally guarantee the town’s development. He assured that he would secure government funds and closely monitor works, adding that there would be no delays or compromises.

Appealing for support, he said welfare schemes were reaching every household and must continue without interruption. He urged voters to support Congress candidates and ensure a decisive victory so that Kamareddy could progress further. Congress leaders, party workers and contesting candidates joined the campaign.
