Hyderabad: Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) spokesperson Syed Nizamuddin on Tuesday criticised the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) for allegedly misleading people by taking credit for projects completed by the Congress government in Jubilee Hills.
Nizamuddin said the ongoing Jubilee Hills development works, including civic and road infrastructure upgrades, were sanctioned and executed by the Congress under Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy. “Those who ignored the area for ten years are now shooting campaign videos before Congress-built projects, pretending they did the work,” he said.
Congress asserts Jubilee Hills development reflects delivery, not propaganda
Citing an example, he mentioned the newly constructed U-turn at Tolichowki, developed to ease traffic congestion after residents’ requests. “This was sanctioned by the Congress. Yet, a BRS leader filmed a video claiming it was done on their representation,” he said.
The Congress leader said the projects were part of a long-term urban improvement plan, not by-election publicity. “Development in Jubilee Hills is a product of continuous governance, not campaign gimmicks,” he remarked.
Nizamuddin said nearly ₹300 crore worth of civic works—covering roads, drainage, and traffic management—had been initiated, showing the government’s commitment to responsive governance. “Every rupee spent is visible on the ground,” he added.
He accused the BRS of “political desperation” and said it was attempting to steal credit after a decade of neglect. “Their campaign videos are proof of guilt, not governance,” he said.
Recalling Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s recent assurance, Nizamuddin said the Congress government would continue inclusive development across Hyderabad, focusing on better amenities in all colonies and divisions.
He urged residents to verify political claims. “Ask when the work began and who sanctioned it. The facts will speak. Progress in Jubilee Hills started only under Congress,” he said.
Nizamuddin concluded that Congress believes in “visible work, not invisible promises.” “The BRS can copy our achievements but not our intent,” he asserted.
