Hyderabad: Tension gripped Gajwel after Congress workers entered the KCR camp office of K. Chandrashekhar Rao on Saturday, triggering a political confrontation.
The constituency, represented by KCR, witnessed unrest as Congress activists gathered at the MLA camp office. District Congress Committee president Tumukunta Aknsha Reddy led the protest.
During the demonstration, workers carried a photograph of Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy. They placed it inside the premises and raised slogans supporting the Congress party.
However, the situation escalated when some individuals damaged furniture and window panes. As a result, the protest turned into a flashpoint between Congress and the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS).
Clash triggers political allegations
The BRS accused Congress activists of vandalism. Party leaders claimed the attack targeted their chief’s office deliberately.
In contrast, Congress leaders denied any involvement in violence. They said their protest remained peaceful and limited to symbolic actions. Moreover, they rejected allegations of damage.
Therefore, conflicting claims from both sides further increased tensions. The issue quickly turned into a political confrontation between the ruling Congress and the opposition BRS.
Police step in to control situation
Following the unrest, police deployed heavy security near the camp office in Gajwel. They acted swiftly to prevent further escalation and maintain order.
Meanwhile, authorities continued to monitor the situation closely. The KCR camp office incident kept the area tense, with a strong police presence as a precaution.
The developments highlight growing political friction in the constituency.
