Hyderabad: BRS MLC Dasoju Sravan Kumar strongly criticised the Congress government during the Budget Session of the Telangana Legislative Council, accusing it of administrative failures and broken promises.
Speaking during the debate on the Governor’s address, he said the speech lacked vision and ignored key issues affecting the state. He argued that the government failed to present clear policies on employment, welfare schemes and development programmes.
Dasoju Sravan Kumar also alleged that several commitments made during the election campaign remained unfulfilled. He claimed the government had not implemented major promises related to jobs, farmer welfare and social justice.
He further criticised the omission of Telangana martyrs in the Governor’s speech. He said the government had not implemented earlier assurances such as jobs for families of martyrs and pensions for their relatives.
Dasoju Sravan Kumar raises jobs, finances and welfare issues
Dasoju Sravan Kumar questioned the government’s claim that 67,000 jobs had been filled. He said many of the posts were originally notified during the previous BRS government and later republished.
According to him, verifiable new job notifications were far lower than the figure cited by the government. He demanded a white paper on employment generation and IT sector investments.
He also raised concerns about the state’s financial management. Referring to budget estimates and borrowings, he alleged that revenue collections had fallen short of targets.
In addition, he criticised the government’s handling of several welfare promises. He said commitments such as financial support for women, farmer loan waivers and the Old Pension Scheme remained pending.
The BRS leader also raised concerns about the Musi river redevelopment project. He alleged that houses were demolished without proper rehabilitation for affected families.
He further criticised the handling of BC reservations and the introduction of GO 46. He claimed the decision undermined promises related to expanding reservations for backward classes.
Dasoju Sravan Kumar also questioned the government’s approach to projects such as Kaleshwaram and the Medigadda barrage. He said the government should repair infrastructure rather than abandon it.
The BRS leader demanded immediate action on several issues, including publishing BC survey data, restoring development works and launching an inquiry into alleged harassment claims linked to the Miss World event.
He said the opposition would continue raising these issues in the legislature and demand accountability from the government.
