DGP highlights effectiveness of Telangana’s T-Safe app for women

Hyderabad: Telangana DGP Shivadhar Reddy praised the State’s T-Safe app for its role in improving women’s safety. He spoke at the national DGPs’ conference held in Raipur from November 28.

He said the app was built after a survey showed Telangana had the highest share of working women. The tool lets users quickly alert police and access services. It has improved responsiveness in cities.

The app is part of broader police reforms to boost trust and gender-sensitive policing. Reddy said tech-based tools like T-Safe make policing inclusive and effective.

T-Safe App – Telangana advocates gender reform, 50% women police by 2047

Shivadhar Reddy proposed that women should hold 50% of police posts by 2047, in line with Vision 2047. He said Telangana had already introduced several reforms to make policing more citizen-focused.

The app has now become central to Telangana’s women’s safety efforts. It also serves as a model that can be adapted by other states.
