DigiLocker electricity bills available for millions of consumers nationwide

Hyderabad: DigiLocker has expanded its digital services by onboarding 68 electricity distribution companies and power departments, allowing millions of consumers to access their electricity bills online.

The integration covers 35 States and Union Territories. It includes state-run distribution companies, municipal electricity departments and private utilities across the country.

Consumers can now access DigiLocker electricity bills securely through the app whenever required. As a result, they no longer need to maintain physical copies, search emails or visit service provider offices.

The platform provides issuer-sourced electricity bills directly from the respective service providers. Therefore, users receive secure and trusted digital documents.

DigiLocker electricity bills strengthen digital utility services

Several major utilities have joined the platform, including Bangalore Electricity Supply Company Limited, Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam, BSES Rajdhani Power Limited, BSES Yamuna Power Limited and Noida Power Company Limited.

Other participating organisations include Dakshinanchal Vidyut Vitran Nigam Limited, Madhyanchal Vidyut Vitran Nigam Limited, Paschimanchal Vidyut Vitran Nigam Limited, Jharkhand Bijli Vitran Nigam Limited and Chandigarh Power Distribution Limited.

The expansion marks a significant step in strengthening India’s digital utility ecosystem. Moreover, it improves access to government and utility-issued documents for citizens.

DigiLocker will continue expanding its network of trusted issuers. Consequently, citizens and organisations will benefit from faster and more efficient digital service delivery.
