Chennai: Vice President C. P. Radhakrishnan released a commemorative postage stamp marking Dinamalar 75 years in Chennai on September 5, 2026.
He said the newspaper had earned public trust by upholding truth, patriotism and public service. He also urged Dinamalar to continue serving the nation for many more years.
The Vice President addressed a function in Chennai marking the newspaper’s 75th year of publication. The event also featured the release of the commemorative postage stamp.
Dinamalar was founded in 1951 with a commitment to uphold truth. Radhakrishnan recalled the contribution of its founder, Shri T. V. Ramasubbaiyer.
He noted that an idea started by one person had grown into a large organisation. He attributed that growth to the dedication of successive generations.
Radhakrishnan said newspapers could earn and retain public trust only by standing firm against pressure. Moreover, he stressed the need to uphold patriotism and public service without fear.
He said Dinamalar’s work over the past 75 years had built a strong bond with its readers. The Vice President also called for continued commitment to these values.
Dinamalar 75 years highlight focus on young readers
Radhakrishnan also stressed the importance of preparing the next generation. He praised Dinamalar’s efforts through its ‘Pattam’ publication.
The publication provides school students with knowledge about general awareness, language skills and scientific innovations. Thus, he highlighted its role in supporting young learners.
The Vice President wished Dinamalar continued growth and success. He said the newspaper should remain a touchstone of truth for many more decades.
The event was attended by Chennai Regional Director of the Department of Posts, Major Manoj. Editor of the Dinamalar Group, Dr. R. Ramasubbu, also attended.
Publishers Shri L. Aadhimoolam, Dr. L. Ramasubbu and Smt. Jayashree were present at the function. Shri R. R. Gopalji and other distinguished guests also attended.
The commemorative stamp marked a major milestone for the newspaper. At the same time, the Vice President’s remarks underlined the role of public trust in journalism.
