DRDO defence capabilities reach new milestone with successful missile tests

New Delhi: DRDO successfully demonstrated advanced defence technologies through three consecutive flight tests, strengthening DRDO defence capabilities against ballistic missile and maritime threats.

The Defence Research and Development Organisation conducted the trials on June 10 and 11 to validate a multi-layered Ballistic Missile Defence system and the Naval Anti-Ship Missile-Medium Range capability.

The interceptors accurately engaged their designated targets. Moreover, the systems incorporated advanced technologies to counter emerging missile threats.

DRDO defence capabilities achieve strategic advancement

The successful Ballistic Missile Defence demonstrations placed India among a select group of countries with the capability to intercept threats up to Intercontinental Ballistic Missiles.

Additionally, DRDO conducted the maiden flight test of the Naval Anti-Ship Missile-Medium Range successfully, strengthening India’s medium-range maritime strike capability.

Senior officials from DRDO and the Defence Forces witnessed the trials. Furthermore, Raksha Mantri Rajnath Singh congratulated the organisation for achieving the significant technological milestone.

Secretary, Department of Defence Research and Development and DRDO Chairman Rajesh Kumar Singh closely monitored the tests and appreciated the efforts of DRDO scientists and industry partners.

The successful demonstrations highlighted India’s continued progress towards developing indigenous advanced defence technologies and enhancing national security.
