Fire accident in Chevella destroys auto warehouse, Rs 2 crore loss

Hyderabad: A Fire accident in Chevella destroyed an automobile warehouse on Shankarpally Road in Ranga Reddy district and caused an estimated loss of around Rs 2 crore, officials said on Sunday.

The blaze broke out at Rishita Automobiles’ warehouse after an alleged short circuit triggered flames. Within minutes, the fire spread across the premises and engulfed spare parts belonging to Hero Honda that were stored in the godown.

Soon after receiving information, fire department personnel rushed to the spot. They deployed multiple fire engines and began operations to contain the flames. After sustained efforts, teams brought the situation under control and prevented the fire from spreading to nearby properties.

No one was present inside the warehouse when the incident occurred. Therefore, authorities confirmed that no casualties or injuries were reported.

Short circuit suspected in Fire accident in Chevella

Preliminary findings indicated that an electrical short circuit triggered the incident. As a result, intense heat reduced large quantities of automobile spare parts to ashes before firefighters managed to contain the blaze.

Officials assessed the damage and estimated the loss at nearly Rs 2 crore due to the destruction of stored components. Meanwhile, authorities began verifying the exact extent of the damage. They also examined the electrical connections at the site as part of the ongoing inquiry.
