Ganesh immersion in Hyderabad ends after colorful 40-hour celebrations

Hyderabad: The Ganesh immersion in Hyderabad ended on Sunday evening after two days of vibrant celebrations that lasted almost 40 hours.

Devotees in thousands thronged Tank Bund, chanting “Ganpati Bappa Morya,” dancing, singing, and celebrating as idols were taken for immersion.

Ganesh immersion marked by devotion, discipline, and hard work

More than 2.7 lakh idols were immersed across the city, including 23,000 at Hussainsagar. Another 1.2 lakh were immersed in baby ponds closer to neighborhoods.

GHMC kept the city clean with 15,000 sanitation staff working round the clock. Police deployed drones and high-rise cameras for security. Despite the heavy rush, incidents were limited to five minor cases.

Social media was filled with photos and videos of colorful processions, massive idols taller than 40 feet, and volunteers helping devotees. Mayor Vijayalakshmi and Commissioner Karnan thanked citizens, media, and Ganesh Utsav Samitis for cooperation.
