GHMC launches 99-day action plan for civic improvements

Hyderabad: The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation launched the GHMC 99-day action plan to deliver visible improvements in civic infrastructure and services across the city.

Priyanka Ala, Additional Commissioner (Revenue and Health), reviewed the programme during a meeting at the GHMC head office on Saturday evening.

She asked officials to treat the initiative as an important challenge under the Praja Palana – Pragathi Pranali programme.

GHMC 99-day action plan focuses on civic improvements

Priyanka Ala directed department heads, deputy commissioners and engineering officials to coordinate closely during the GHMC 99-day action plan. She explained that the programme aims to bring measurable improvements in sanitation, park development and lake cleaning.

Officials will also focus on road maintenance, junction development and engineering works across Hyderabad. In addition, authorities plan to strengthen self-help groups, improve town planning activities and increase property tax collections. The civic body will also prioritise road safety measures during the programme. Furthermore, Priyanka Ala stressed that government offices and public parks must remain clean and free from garbage points. She also instructed officials to clear all pending physical and electronic files without delay.

According to her, officials must ensure efficient administration during the programme. She added that employees will not receive leave during the 99-day initiative except in emergency situations. The review meeting followed directions issued by R. V. Karnan, Commissioner of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation.

Additional Commissioners Manda Makarand, Satyanarayana, Ravi Kiran and Chandrakala attended the meeting. Zonal Commissioners G. Mukund Reddy, Srinivas Reddy and Mangatayaru also participated. Chief Engineer Jyothirmayi, departmental heads and deputy commissioners were also present.

During the meeting, officials discussed strategies to implement the action plan effectively across all civic departments.
