Haj 2026 booking deadline extended till January 25 for HGO pilgrims

New Delhi: The Ministry of Minority Affairs granted a final extension till January 25, 2026, for completing all remaining codal formalities related to Haj 2026 for pilgrims booking through Haj Group Organisers and Private Tour Operators.

The ministry issued the advisory after receiving representations from pilgrims and other stakeholders seeking more time. Officials said the decision aimed to protect the larger interest of pilgrims while ensuring compliance with timelines fixed by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Under the revised schedule, pilgrims must complete the booking process within the extended period. They must also submit valid passports to the Haj Committee of India or their respective HGOs. In addition, pilgrims must ensure successful onboarding on the Nusuk portal within the stipulated timeline.

The ministry clarified that this extension applied only once. It warned that no further extension would be granted under any circumstances beyond January 25, 2026.

Haj 2026 booking extension comes with strict compliance warning

The advisory referred to an earlier notice issued on December 4, 2025, which had fixed January 15, 2026, as the original deadline. Officials said the competent authority examined the fresh requests before approving the final extension.

The ministry advised pilgrims to verify the registration status, quota, and approval of the concerned HGO or PTO before making any booking. It also urged pilgrims to book only through authorised organisers to avoid last-minute issues.

Officials reiterated that strict adherence to the revised deadline remained mandatory. They said failure to complete formalities by January 25 would lead to cancellation of eligibility for Haj 2026.
