Harish Rao attack targets Revanth over jobs, welfare

Hyderabad: T. Harish Rao intensified his criticism of A. Revanth Reddy, saying the Chief Minister would not return to power. He also projected K. Chandrashekar Rao as the next leader of the state.

The Harish Rao attack marked a sharp escalation in the BRS campaign against the Congress government. He also challenged the Chief Minister to contest from Siddipet.

According to him, the government has failed multiple sections, including farmers and marginalised communities. He argued that several promises remain unfulfilled.

Harish Rao attack focuses on jobs and welfare

Focusing on employment, he said the government had promised two lakh jobs. However, notifications were issued for only around 17,000 posts.

He used this gap to question the government’s commitment to recruitment. In his view, the shortfall reflects weak planning and execution.

Turning to welfare boards, he highlighted gaps in infrastructure. He said many boards lack proper office facilities.

Out of 33 welfare boards, only 16 have offices, while 17 continue without basic infrastructure. He also claimed that large portions of allocated funds remain unused.

He alleged that corporations utilised only a small share of funds, with most allocations lapsing. This formed a key part of the Harish Rao attack on governance.

Criticism extends to Assembly functioning

The BRS leader also raised concerns about Assembly proceedings. He pointed to repeated adjournments and delays during sessions.

In addition, he accused the government of limiting opposition voices inside the House. He demanded an extension of the current Assembly session by one week.

Through these remarks, he combined political criticism with administrative concerns. He used the platform to question governance, delivery and legislative functioning.

The Harish Rao attack also aimed to shift attention to unmet promises. At the same time, it positioned the opposition as an active challenger ahead of future political contests.
