Hyderabad: Authorities have firmly dismissed rumours of a fuel shortage, stating that the Hyderabad fuel panic debunked claims are completely baseless. Officials confirmed that petrol and diesel stocks in the city are sufficient for up to 60 days.
V.C. Sajjanar and Harichandana Dasari issued a joint clarification to reassure the public. They emphasised that fuel supply chains remain stable and uninterrupted across the city.

The rumours spread rapidly on social media, which led to panic buying at several petrol bunks. Consequently, long queues formed across Hyderabad as people rushed to refill tanks.
However, officials clarified that there was no disruption in supply at any stage. Instead, they explained that misinformation triggered unnecessary panic among consumers.
Moreover, authorities confirmed that Telangana maintains adequate reserves to meet demand comfortably. Therefore, citizens do not need to worry about fuel availability.
Police have also stepped up monitoring of social media platforms. In addition, they warned that strict action will be taken against those spreading false information.
Officials urge calm and responsible behaviour
Authorities stated that all 186 petrol bunks in the city continue to operate normally. Furthermore, supply chains ensure regular delivery of petrol and diesel to retail outlets.
They stressed that panic buying could create artificial shortages even when supply remains sufficient. As a result, they urged citizens to follow normal consumption patterns.
At the same time, officials called on the public to verify information before sharing it online. Responsible behaviour, they said, will help maintain stability.
