Hyderabad global innovation hub highlighted by Sridhar Babu

Hyderabad: IT and Industries Minister D. Sridhar Babu on Friday said Hyderabad was steadily emerging as a Hyderabad global innovation hub, supported by strong infrastructure and industry-friendly policies.

The Minister made the remarks during a meeting with a visiting German delegation at the Telangana Secretariat. The group travelled to India to study industrial development across BRICS countries and emerging investment ecosystems.

According to Sridhar Babu, Hyderabad has grown into a major centre not only for information technology and electronics but also for pharmaceuticals, defence and aviation industries.

As a result, the city continues to attract international investors and technology companies.

Members of the delegation included representatives of Global Bridges, an international non-profit organisation. During the meeting, the Minister explained Telangana’s industrial opportunities and incentives offered to global investors.

He said the state had introduced innovative policies to address rapid global economic changes. Because of these initiatives, Telangana has strengthened its reputation as a Hyderabad global innovation hub for technology-driven industries.

The Minister also highlighted the state’s reliable power supply and water availability for industrial operations. He added that consistent industrial policies had helped maintain investor confidence.

Hyderabad global innovation hub vision supported by future projects

Sridhar Babu also spoke about the government’s ambitious Future City project planned in southern Hyderabad.

He also noted that Telangana has a strong pool of skilled human resources. Because of this talent base, industries in the state rarely face shortages of trained professionals.

At the same time, the government has launched large-scale skilling and reskilling programmes. These efforts aim to equip engineers and professionals with advanced technological skills.

Sridhar Babu added that the semiconductor sector had begun gaining momentum in Telangana. Companies from Taiwan and Korea have already started activities related to chip design and manufacturing.

The Minister said cooperation with Germany could further strengthen Telangana’s engineering and technology sectors.

He reiterated that the government remained committed to transforming Telangana into a $3 trillion economy by 2047.
