Hyderabad: Hyderabad police busted an MDMA racket at Nagole and arrested two persons during a targeted operation by SOT LB Nagar Zone and local police.
The accused were identified as Junaid Raza Siddiqui, 36, and Sunil Subba alias Johny, 29. Police seized 25.65 grams of MDMA, along with mobile phones, cash and vehicles.
Officials said the total value of seized items in the MDMA racket case was about ₹3.61 lakh. Therefore, the operation marked a significant crackdown on drug supply in the area.
Acting on a tip-off, police teams conducted the raid on April 1 at Nagole X Road. As a result, they intercepted the accused and recovered the contraband.
During questioning, investigators found that the accused procured drugs through contacts linked to suppliers from Himachal Pradesh. They then distributed the substances in the city for quick profit.
MDMA racket linked to interstate drug supply network
Police identified two key suppliers, Mohammed Ansar and Raju, in the MDMA racket network. However, both accused are currently absconding.
Authorities launched a manhunt to trace the suspects and dismantle the wider network. In addition, surveillance has been intensified across key locations.
Officials said coordinated efforts were underway to curb drug trafficking activities. Meanwhile, they urged citizens to share information related to suspicious movements.
Police also appealed to the public to cooperate in enforcement efforts. They said timely inputs could help prevent the spread of narcotics.
Senior officers, including Malkajgiri Commissioner Avinash Mohanty, supervised the operation. DCPs and SOT officials also guided the teams during the raid.
Investigation into the MDMA racket remains in progress as police continue to track further links in the network.
