Hyderabad likely to witness rains for two more days

Hyderabad: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecast that Hyderabad would continue to experience rainfall for the next two days as monsoon activity persisted across the city and surrounding districts. Officials reported showers in areas including Jubilee Hills, Banjara Hills and Secunderabad on Friday, disrupting evening traffic in several parts.

Weather officials said the city recorded a minimum temperature of 21.7°C and a maximum of 29.5°C. Humidity levels were reported at 81 percent, reflecting the impact of continuous rains and cloudy conditions.

Cloudy skies and thundershowers expected over the weekend

According to IMD, the city will remain under a cloud cover with moderate to light rains accompanied by gusty winds in isolated areas. Officials added that occasional thunderstorms could also occur, particularly in the evenings, as low-pressure systems remained active over Telangana.

The weather department has urged citizens to take precautions against waterlogging and traffic disruptions, especially in low-lying areas. GHMC officials have been instructed to keep emergency teams on alert to address flooding in colonies and restore drainage systems.

Officials said the prevailing conditions were likely to continue over the weekend before easing gradually next week. Residents have been advised to monitor daily forecasts and avoid unnecessary travel during heavy downpours.
