Telangana plans to name Hyderabad roads after global leaders, firms

Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy proposed naming key roads in Hyderabad after prominent global leaders and major tech companies. He said the move would help place the city more firmly on the global map.

As part of the upcoming Telangana Rising Global Summit, the government plans to name a new greenfield radial road—from Raviryal near the Outer Ring Road to the planned Future City—as “Ratan Tata Road.” The government has already named the Raviryal interchange “Tata Interchange.”

Further, the main road leading to the US Consulate General in Hyderabad may receive the name “Donald Trump Avenue.” However, the state will proceed only after the Union Ministry of External Affairs and the US Embassy approve the proposal.

Hyderabad roads global names include Google Street, Microsoft Road

Officials said one major road may take the name “Google Street” to acknowledge the company’s role in the city’s tech ecosystem. They added that other names under review include “Microsoft Road” and “Wipro Junction.” These ideas align with CM Reddy’s plan to present Hyderabad as a global innovation hub.

The government aims to give the city wider international visibility through these names. It also hopes the new identity will motivate visitors and investors as Telangana positions itself as a destination for global innovation and investment.
