Brake failure causes midnight tipper crash in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: A tipper truck caused chaos on the roads of Hyderabad after midnight on Tuesday. It crashed into a bus and a lorry near Malakpet due to brake failure.

The accident occurred near the TV Towers junction close to Malakpet crossroads. The vehicle, coming from Asmangadh, lost control. After hitting the two vehicles, it veered onto the road divider under the Metro bridge. This created a traffic jam on both sides of the road.

No injuries were reported at the time of filing the report. However, the accident led to major disruption of traffic flow through the area.

Police said the tipper was speeding from the Tirumala Hills area when the brakes failed, leading to the multi-vehicle collision. The damaged vehicles were cleared after some time to ease the traffic congestion.
