Goa: India Energy Week 2026 will take place in Goa from January 27 to 30, the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas announced on Tuesday.
The event will bring together global ministers, CEOs, policymakers and energy leaders. As the first major international energy event of the year, India Energy Week 2026 will focus on energy security, investment and decarbonisation.
Officials said the event comes at a crucial time for global energy systems. Rising demand, geopolitical uncertainty and climate commitments continue to reshape the sector.
Organisers expect participation from more than 120 countries. The 2025 edition attracted over 68,000 attendees, 570 exhibitors and 5,400 conference delegates. It also featured 100 sessions with more than 540 global speakers. Building on this momentum, the 2026 edition will expand further.
The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas is hosting the event. The Federation of Indian Petroleum Industry and dmg events are jointly organising it. Delegations from the Americas, Europe, the Middle East, Africa and the Asia-Pacific region will attend.
According to the International Energy Agency’s World Energy Outlook 2025, India will account for over 23 per cent of global incremental energy demand by 2050. Against this backdrop, India Energy Week 2026 will promote dialogue on resilient energy systems and the clean energy transition.
India Energy Week 2026 to highlight reforms, clean energy and security
India Energy Week 2026 will showcase India’s reform-driven energy framework. Officials said recent changes balance economic growth, climate responsibility and consumer protection.
Reforms under the Oilfields Act 2025 and Petroleum and Natural Gas Rules 2025 strengthened the upstream ecosystem. These measures allow single petroleum leases, time-bound approvals within 180 days and long-term lease stability. They also promote infrastructure sharing and investor safeguards.
Clean energy initiatives will feature prominently. India’s ethanol blending programme has saved ₹1.59 lakh crore in foreign exchange since 2014. It has also reduced 813 lakh metric tonnes of CO₂ emissions and replaced 270 lakh metric tonnes of crude oil. Sessions will also cover biofuels, green hydrogen and sustainable fuels.
The event will highlight infrastructure growth to boost energy security. Petrol retail outlets crossed one lakh in 2025. CNG stations rose to more than 8,477. PNG household connections increased to over 1.59 crore. The natural gas pipeline network expanded to over 25,923 km.
Officials said India maintained consumer price stability despite global volatility. The government passed on excise duty cuts on petrol and diesel to consumers. Oil Marketing Companies also reduced prices in March 2024. LPG prices for PMUY beneficiaries remain among the lowest globally.
Over four days, India Energy Week 2026 will host ministerial roundtables, CEO dialogues and public-private interactions. It will also feature technology showcases, exhibitions and media engagements. Sessions will focus on hydrogen, green finance, digital transformation and workforce development.
India Energy Week serves as India’s flagship global energy platform. It promotes policy alignment, investment and technology collaboration. India Energy Week 2026 will be held in Goa from January 27 to 30.
