India UAE agreements signed in defence, space, energy and investment sectors

Dholera: India UAE agreements covering defence, space, energy, food safety and investment were exchanged on Monday as UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Prime Minister Narendra Modi witnessed the event.

The exchange marked another step in strengthening the strategic partnership between the two countries. Moreover, officials said the agreements reflected deeper cooperation across economic and security sectors.

Among the India UAE agreements, the two sides signed a Letter of Intent on a Strategic Defence Partnership. UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan exchanged the document with External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar.

In addition, the UAE Space Agency and the Indian National Space Promotion and Authorisation Centre signed a Letter of Intent. The pact aims to promote space industry development and commercial collaboration.

India UAE agreements expand energy, food safety and investment ties

Meanwhile, ADNOC Gas and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited signed a Sales and Purchase Agreement in the energy sector. ADNOC Managing Director and Group CEO Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber exchanged the document with Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Hardeep Singh Puri.

The two countries also signed an agreement on food safety and technical requirements. The UAE Ministry of Climate Change and Environment and India’s Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority executed the pact.

Further, the UAE Ministry of Investment and the Government of Gujarat signed a Letter of Intent on investment cooperation. The agreement focuses on developing the Dholera Special Investment Region in Gujarat.

Officials said the India UAE agreements highlighted growing bilateral engagement. They added that the pacts aim to strengthen cooperation in manufacturing, infrastructure, technology and trade.
