Indian Naval Academy hosts global Admiral’s Cup 2025

Kerala: The Indian Naval Academy at Ezhimala will host the Admiral’s Cup 2025 from 08 to 13 December. The championship will bring together 35 nations for one of the world’s most respected naval sailing events. Established in 2010, the competition has built a strong reputation for promoting camaraderie and maritime cooperation among officer trainees from friendly foreign navies.

Over the years, the event has grown into a major global platform. It now attracts top sailing talent from naval academies across continents. This edition will follow the Match Racing format using ILCA-6 class sailboats, which demand tactical skill, endurance, and precise seamanship.

This year, teams from Asia, Europe, Africa, Oceania, and the Americas will participate. Their presence will further expand the event’s global reach and create a diverse representation of maritime traditions. The races also help future naval leaders build professional bonds through spirited competition and interaction.

The Academy’s modern training facilities, outdoor sailing complex, and favourable coastal waters provide an ideal environment for the championship. Moreover, visiting teams will experience the institution’s traditions through cultural exchanges and outreach programmes.

The Opening Ceremony on 09 December will mark the start of the championship. Four days of challenging races will follow, shaped by shifting wind and sea conditions. The event will conclude on 13 December with the Closing Ceremony, where organisers will honour the best teams and standout sailors.

The Admiral’s Cup 2025 reinforces India’s focus on global naval partnership, discipline, teamwork, and professional development in the maritime domain.
