Hyderabad: Japan PM Shigeru Ishiba has resigned after his party lost the July upper house elections, triggering a new leadership race inside the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP).
The move came on Sunday, as NHK confirmed Ishiba’s decision to step down to prevent further divisions in the party. He had recently apologized for the electoral loss and said he was weighing his options.
