Hyderabad: Kamareddy education works came under review as Telangana Government Adviser Mohammed Ali Shabbir inspected education and sports infrastructure projects.
Shabbir Ali directed officials to speed up key works in Kamareddy. These included new classrooms at the Government Junior College and a CC road linking the college with the R&B main road.
He later inspected development works at the Indira Gandhi Stadium. He asked officials to complete the projects within the stipulated time while maintaining construction quality.
During his visit to the Government Junior College, Shabbir Ali distributed notebooks, college bags and sports shoes to students. He also interacted with students and asked about their studies and campus facilities.
The adviser said the government was focusing on quality education and better infrastructure. He added that students needed suitable opportunities to build their future.
The college had secured 1,100 admissions, Shabbir Ali said. He noted that the rising student strength required additional infrastructure and assured that funds would be sanctioned for new classrooms.
He also took note of difficulties faced by students and teaching staff. Accordingly, he directed officials to urgently build the CC road from the college to the R&B main road.
The road work must be completed within 10 days, he directed. The instruction aimed to address connectivity difficulties faced by students and staff.
Shabbir Ali said the government had increased cosmetic charges for students in government hostels by 200 per cent. He added that uniforms, shoes, study material, textbooks and notebooks were being provided free to students.
Kamareddy education works linked with sports plans
Shabbir Ali said Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, who holds the Education portfolio, was giving special attention to the sector. He said the government was developing integrated residential schools at a cost of Rs 200 crore in each Assembly constituency.
The government was also working towards establishing a Sports University, he said. It was also upgrading ITI centres with modern technology.
Later, Shabbir Ali inspected the indoor stadium under construction at the Indira Gandhi Stadium. He also reviewed other ongoing development works at the sports complex.
Officials briefed him on the progress of the projects during the inspection. He directed them to meet the stipulated deadlines without compromising construction quality.
Shabbir Ali said sports helped young people develop discipline, confidence and leadership qualities. The government was working to strengthen sports infrastructure from the village level to the State level.
He added that better training facilities would support talented young athletes. The proposed Sports University would also help nurture sporting talent, including players from rural areas.
According to Shabbir Ali, the university would create opportunities for athletes to compete at national and international levels. He said the initiative would help expand sporting opportunities for young people.
He said the Indira Gandhi Stadium would receive modern facilities. The new indoor stadium would allow athletes to train in different sports throughout the year.
Officials were asked to coordinate their work and avoid delays. Shabbir Ali also directed them to ensure that construction quality was not compromised.
Municipal Chairman Ippa Umarani Srinivas and District Library Chairman Maddi Chandrakanth Reddy attended the programmes. Former DCC president Kailas Srinivas, local councillors and other public representatives also participated.
Officials, Congress leaders, workers and local residents were present during the visits. The programmes covered both education facilities and sports infrastructure development in Kamareddy.
