Karnataka Deputy CM hails Telangana Vision 2047 as model for South

Hyderabad: Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar on Monday praised the Telangana Vision Document 2047, describing it as a significant model not just for Telangana but for the entire southern region of India.

Speaking at the inaugural session of the Telangana Rising Global Summit held at Bharat Future City in Rangareddy district, Shivakumar said the initiative demonstrated long-term thinking at a global scale. “Telangana is thinking for the next generation. This kind of vision is only possible under a Congress government,” he said.

He acknowledged the technological prominence of both Bengaluru and Hyderabad, noting that while the two cities are often seen as rivals, they are in fact collaborators competing with the world, not each other.

Shivakumar also commended the Telangana government for hosting a summit that he said was a moment of pride for South India and the nation as a whole. He observed that South India contributes between 30 to 35 percent of the national GDP, with Karnataka and Telangana playing key roles.

Highlighting regional cooperation, Shivakumar emphasised that Telangana and Karnataka are advancing together in health, technology, and education.

He said he was proud to be part of Telangana Rising 2047 and stressed that working together was the key to success. “This summit shows what India needs, what the world needs, and what the people of Telangana need. The government has envisioned what the next generation requires,” he added.

He affirmed Karnataka’s support for the progress of Telangana and South India, citing Bengaluru’s 40 percent share in India’s IT exports and Telangana’s significant contribution despite its small size. He also noted that 1.3 million Indian engineers are working in cities like California.
